We were contacted by St John's Church to have a look at some internal works and decoration works on the walls in various areas of the church - the vestry and church halls in particular.
Thre was quite a bit of damp and loose plaster to wall areas which required some attention - removing and replacing and including for any rotten skirting boards.
The works to the church were carried out to tight deadlines (around church activities and bookings) and to meet their budgetary constraints and to provide the best solution to the problems with the damp.
We completed the above repairs and, after a period of drying-out, applied a watered-down mist coat to the newly-plastered areas, followed by 2 coats of breathable restoration paint product to the vestry and hall walls in a colour to match the existing finishes and in keeping with the style of the property. All of the woodwork was then rubbed back and painted to freshen it up.
External works were also carried out in the Summer of 2016 to the Community Hall metal windows which required rubbing back, replacing any damaged putties and re-painting with metal paint to match new aluminium windows which had been installed.
We are currently in the process of undertaking several more phases of works for St Johns Church and will include for works to several other areas in Spring 2017. |
